Alternate Write-Up:

All of the programmable functions can be broken down into four parts:

1) Programming Start
2) Function Set
3) Variable Input
4) Programming End

1. To start programming, the sequence is always [ f/64, release shutter, f/57, release shutter, f/64, release shutter ]. This tells the chip that you wish to enter the programming function of the chip.

2. To choose the function you wish the program, the three functions offered are assigned a specific f-stop:
To set your maximum f-stop, you would use the sequence: [ f/2.0, release shutter ]
To set your focal length, you would use the sequence: [ f/2.2, release shutter ]
To fine tune your focus point (if your lens is front or back focusing), you would use this sequence: [ f/2.5, shutter release ]

3. To input your variables, follow the chart on the manual to see which f-stops correspond to which digits.
When setting your maximum f-stop, there is only one variable (which corresponds directly to the f-stop you wish to set, so you would use the following sequence: [ f/x, shutter release ]
When setting your focal length, there are five variables (which use the chart on the manual), so you would use this sequence: [ f/x, shutter release, f/x, shutter release, f/x, shutter release, f/x, shutter release, f/x, shutter release]
When fine tuning the focus, there are two variables (which use the chart on the manual), so you use this seuqence: [ f/x, shutter release, f/x, shutter release ]

4. To end programming, the sequence is always [ f/57, shutter release, f/64, shutter release, f/57, shutter release ]

So, putting this all together, to program your max aperture value to f/2.8, the sequence should be as follows:

[ f/64, shutter release, f/57, shutter release, f/64, shutter release, f/2.0, shutter release,  f/57, shutter release, f/64, shutter release, f/57, shutter release ]

and setting the focal length to 60mm should be as follows:

[ f/64, shutter release, f/57, shutter release, f/64, shutter release, f/2.2, shutter release, f/2.0, shutter release, f/2.0, shutter release, f/2.0, shutter release, f/4.0, shutter release, f/2.0, shutter release, f/57, shutter release, f/64, shutter release, f/57, shutter release ]
